Happy 119th Birthday Navy CPOs and Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans
Master Chief Petty
Officer of the Navy (MCPON) Rick West released a statement asking the
entire mess to pause on April 1, 2012 to celebrate the
119th
birthday of the U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer that
includes “our honored mess traditions and heritage, and to look to
the future.” This year has been declared the “Year of the
Chief” by the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation in recognition of the
importance of all Navy CPOs.
Congress declared today
(March 30, 2012) as “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day” to
officially recognize the service of the veterans of the
Vietnam conflict.

and Vietnam veterans.
