Recoupment Relief

Many service members who voluntarily or involuntarily separated from military service in the 1990s due to budget cuts received separation pay.  Those who later returned to active duty or joined the Guard or Reserves are required to repay that separation pay. FRA believes recoupment should be waived for those who returned to military service.
