Protect VA Health Care from Budget Cuts
Sen. Jon Tester (Mont.),
a member of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, has introduced
the “Protecting the VA Health Care Act” (S. 2128) that
excludes Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) healthcare programs from
mandatory Budget Control Act sequestration cuts that are scheduled to take effect in January 2013. There is
growing concern the cuts may negatively impact VA healthcare programs
and access to care for our nation’s veterans. The bill is
identical to a House measure (H.R. 3895) sponsored by Rep. Jeff Miller
(Fla.),
chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee. Members are urged to use the FRA Action
Center to ask
their elected officials to co-sponsor these
initiatives:
