House Subcommittee Discusses Prosthetics
The House Veterans
Affairs’ Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigation recently held
a hearing to examine the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) prosthetic
program and its procurement process. The subcommittee heard testimony
concerning VA's proposal to change procurement processes that could
result in prosthetics funding being used for other purposes.
FRA believes VA’s
research must focus on improving treatments for conditions that are
unique to veterans. Medical and prosthetic research is one of the most
successful aspects of all VA medical programs and the Association
has repeatedly requested adequate funding for the
prosthetic program in testimony before the House and Senate VA
Committees.
