Veterans Legislation Advances to Full House
The House Veterans
Affairs Committee (HVAC) advanced three bills to the full House for
consideration this week. The improving Transparency of Education
Opportunities for Veterans Act (H.R. 4057), the Military Family Home
Protection Act (H.R. 5747) and the Veterans Fiduciary Reform Act (H.R.
5948) all bills passed the full committee unanimously. “These
bills contain provisions from seventeen different legislative proposals,
(including legislation addressing homeless veterans, open burn pit
registry for personnel who served in Iraq and
Afghanistan) and
represent a considerable amount of the work done by the Committee this
session,” said HVAC Chairman Rep. Jeff Miller (Fla.). The
Chairman thanked the committee members for their bi-partisan work on
important legislation that improves VA care and
operations.
