Veterans Employment Nominee Approved  by Senate

The Senate recently confirmed Keith Kelly to serve as the Department of Labor Assistant Secretary for Veterans Employment and Training Service, a post that had been vacant since July of 2011.  During confirmation testimony, Kelly indicated that he will implement the re-designed Transition Assistance Programs (TAP) and vowed to improve outreach to service members and veterans to ensure they have access to this and other programs to help them find civilian jobs.

Formerly the commissioner of the Montana Department of Labor and Industry, Kelly is the recipient of the Bronze Star for valor for his Army service during the Vietnam War.
